professional experience

Since the early 2000s I’ve worked as a specialist HR and recruitment practitioner in Auckland, Wellington, London and Dublin. As a ‘career contractor’ for much of this time I’ve established industry experience in finance, government, insurance, law, property, agency recruitment, accounting, engineering, energy, manufacturing, automotive and medical.

My generalist expertise spans recruitment, selection, induction, employee relations, policy development, change and restructure, performance management, manager coaching, learning and development, through to exiting employees and everything in between. I’ve also led teams of my own so have first-hand knowledge and understanding of managing people.

With skills in project management, strategic and operational delivery, and process efficiency I have an interest in employment legislation and an ambition to support businesses succeed through their people.

education

I hold a Bachelor of Business Studies with a double major in Human Resource Management & Communication Management from Massey University, Wellington, graduating as a Scholar (ranked in the top 5% of the business school throughout NZ).

on a personal note

I’ve lived in Auckland since 2012, and was born and bred in New Plymouth; I head back to the Naki regularly to visit family and friends. During my 20’s I studied and worked in Wellington and spent a few years abroad in London, Ireland and Cyprus which is where my love for travel flourished. Having travelled to over 40 countries, I still seek out any travel that I can. I enjoy playing most sports, and love attending live games. I’ve recently revived my enjoyment of camping, and with the help of my partner, Paddy am trying my hand at surfing and SUP, with varying results!
